he Collierville Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Person of the Year Award was given to Linda R. Dick last week during the annual Chamber Awards Ceremony at Ridgeway Country Club.
The Chamber Person of the Year is a multi-faceted person who has been a friend and partner to the civic and business community for many years.
A proven leader and dedicated volunteer, the individual is a respected leader and a Christian servant to the Collierville community and greater Memphis area.
Dick has been actively involved in the Collierville Chamber and community since 1988. Throughout her active and varied professional career spanning over 40 years, she has served in the medical field, sales, and real estate.
Close to the her heart is the behind-the-scenes dedication to give unconditionally to a need or opportunity in any capacity with active leadership roles in community life driving many philanthropic efforts in Collierville, playing a critical role in enhancing the quality of life we all enjoy.
Chamber Chairman John Barrios called Dick a “woman who leads by example.”

“She walks the walk and talks the talk,” he said, “honoring our past, building our bright future of the Collierville Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Collierville. Her visionary leadership contributes to our dreams becoming a reality.”

The Person of the Year program was established in 1990 and is presented annually to an individual in recognition of exemplary accomplishments and contributions to Collierville, its businesses and citizens through exceptional volunteerism and commitment to the betterment of life within the Collierville community.
The Award recognizes an ambitious, fulfilling and eventful career that is still in the making. It is not an award for which one campaigns or enters. Submissions are usually made without the individual’s knowledge of the nomination.
Since 2004, the Collierville Chamber Person of the Year has received a newly designed plaque made of mirrored glass. The style of the award was selected to allow the recipient to look at the award and see the reflection of the ideal Collierville Chamber Person of the Year. A duplicate of the mirrored glass award engraved with each recipient’s name will hang in a place of honor in offices of The Collierville Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to the Dick’s extensive volunteerism to the Collierville Chamber of Commerce, she also served the Town of Collierville on the Design Review Board.
Professionally, Dick was instrumental in bringing the Coldwell-Banker Franchise to Collierville. She has been honored with real estate designations including Coldwell-Banker’s Managers Award in 2005, Certified Residential Specialist, Corporate Property Specialist and Graduate Realtors Institute.
