Dragons come back to beat Wooddale 58-55

Collierville improved to 12-7 on the season over the weekend after back-to-back wins against Wooddale and North Pontotoc. The Dragons hosted Wooddale on Friday night and came back from a 36-32 halftime deficit to beat the Cardinals 58-55. Junior Drews Andrews paced the Dragons with 12 points in the tight contest. Collierville used a 15-10 run in the third period to take the lead. On Saturday, the Dragons traveled to North Pontotoc to challenge the 11-7 Vikings. The close contest ended with a 52-49 overtime win for the Dragons. Collierville jumped out to an early 13-8 lead. However, North Pontotoc stormed back in the second quarter and nearly tied the game at 22-21 before the half. Both teams traded baskets in the second half, resulting in a 45-45 tie to end regulation. The Dragons bested North Pontotoc in overtime behind the hot hand of Brett Warner, who finished the game with 16 points. Collierville will host rival Germantown (13-5) this Friday. The Red Devils are coming off a strong win against 17-3 Houston. ABOVE: Junior guard Brad Warner goes hard to the basket.
