Hamm’s work featured in community art gallery

As part of the Community Art Gallery series, the Harrell Theatre is currently showcasing work by Carol Hamm.
Hamm gained experience as an adult taking local classes. With a formal education in teaching, along with 30 years in the field, and raising four children, Hamm didn’t have much time for art until recently.
“I gained knowledge and pleasure, as an adult, taking watercolor classes under Linda Tate,” said Hamm. “I also worked in pastels for a short time under Chantel Barber.”
Currently, her focus is watercolor and experimenting with many techniques. She hopes to become a more fluid watercolorist and will be attending a workshop in June under Lian Quan Zhen, a popular watercolor and Chinese painting artist, author and teacher.
The Community Art Gallery is a collaboration by the Morton Museum of Collierville History and the Collierville Arts Council to feature artists within a 30-mile radius of Collierville.
The one-of-a-kind, two-dimensional artwork is showcased for a 10-week exhibition in Town Hall, the Morton Museum and the Harrell Theatre.
Along with Hamm, there is artwork from Keith Stubblefield on display at Town Hall, 500 Poplar View Parkway, and Rebecca Shellabarger at the Morton Museum, 196 Main Street.
