Posted on June 6, 2014.
Collierville Middle School was honored to receive an American flag on May 14 from Chief Master Sergeant Kenny MacFeggan of the Tennessee Air National Guard. This flag was flown on April 13 in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The entire student body, faculty and staff were present at the assembly in the gymnasium. Directed by Jason Seek, the CMS band played the National Anthem, followed by MacFeggan and his family leading the Pledge of Allegiance. MacFeggan spoke briefly on his duties as an Air Force pilot and the importance of remembering all those who help secure our freedoms at home and abroad. Pictured are Kim MacFeggan, Kellie MacFeggan, Principal Chip Blanchard, Mayor Stan Joyner, Aldermen Maureen Fraser, John Worley and Billy Patton, and Collierville School Board members Chairman Mark Hansen, Cathy Messerly and Wright Cox. Holding the flag are Daniel Hancock and Noah Barnes.
