Collierville welcomes seven new employees
The Town of Collierville recently welcomed in a group of new employees including Collierville Schools Superintendent John Aitken at a new employee orientation session.
As part of the new hire protocol, the Collierville Human Resources Department spends about half a day with the group, ensuring they are informed of town benefits, policies and procedures, safety rules and regulations and other opportunities as an employee of the town.
Human Resources Technician Gus Logan, a nine-year TOC employee, conducts the training that includes audiovisuals to share information on the pension plan, personnel records, safety program, internet/e-mail policy, and ethics policies.
Retaining well trained and effective employees is important as indicated by the fact that 43 percent of town employees have been with the Town for more than 10 years and one employee with over 39 years.
One of the immediate benefits of employment with the Town is that new employees may utilize discounted memberships at Desoto Athletic Club or Schilling Farms YMCA; two free tickets to each Harrell Theatre Collierville Arts Council production upon request; and free flu shot and hepatitis B vaccine if they so choose.
