The Collierville Dragons beat host Houston twice Wednesday to become District 15-AAA champions. Collierville had to beat Houston twice to get the win in the double elimination tournament.
Collierville senior Parker Phillips turned in a massive performance, homering twice in the first 9-3 win.
The Dragons won the second game 7-5 by building an early 3-0 lead and scoring two runs late after a 4-run third inning from the Mustangs.
Pitcher Bo Sutton picked up his fifth win of the season in the first game. Alex Johnson pitched the second game and got his seventh win of the season.
The Dragons are 28-14-1 on the season. Houston is 26-8.
