Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid in downtown Memphis has announced that it will host a grand opening on April 29 at 6 p.m. with a special Evening for Conservation event.
The event will feature an all-star cast of celebrities from the world of sports, entertainment and the outdoors joining together to help Bass Pro Shops celebrate the opening of one of the most immersive, dynamic retail experiences in the world. In addition, Big Cypress Lodge will welcome its first guests to the wilderness hotel.
This project represents the single largest investment in size and scope that Bass Pro Shops has ever made outside of its national headquarters in Missouri.
With an array of retail, educational and fun attractions for guests of all ages, the experience is much more than a store; it’s a deeply engaging, one-of-a-kind adventure.
In addition to assortments of outdoor gear, the new destination experience will include wilderness hotel Big Cypress Lodge, 600,000 gallons of water features; a cypress swamp with 100-foot-tall trees; the interactive Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center; and a breathtaking glass-floored cantilevering observation deck at the top of the 32-story steel pyramid.
Bass Pro Shops will donate 50 cents of every dollar spent during the Evening for Conservation to nonprofit conservation organizations including Ducks Unlimited and America’s Wildlife Museum and Aquarium.
“The people of our company believe very strongly that the future of our industry, the sports we serve, and the sports we personally enjoy are absolutely more dependent upon our conservation efforts and how we manage our natural resources than anything else,” said Bass Pro Shops Founder Johnny Morris. “It is far more important than any catalog we mail, any new store we open, or any new product our vendors create.”
The celebration will be the first opportunity for fans to step inside the transformed Memphis Pyramid. In addition to being part of history, guests can experience special exhibits, store wide savings on a huge assortment of products, and fantastic giveaways with celebrities, and experts on fishing, hunting, waterfowling and boating available to talk with guests.
