Petersen recognized for 20 years

Outgoing Parks and Recreation Director Chip Petersen was recognized by Dr. Dan Lattimore of the University of Memphis last week during the monthly Collierville Chamber of Commerce luncheon.
During his 20 years with the Town of Collierville, Petersen was involved with shaping much of the Town’s landscape as we know it today.
Upon his arrival to Collierville in 1995, Petersen had much more to build than a few soccer fields.
In addition to his service as the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director, Chip also served 13 years as the Assistant Town Administrator.
He worked on numerous large-scale projects including the construction of a new Town Hall, Library, Animal Shelter and the Police and Court buildings.
Petersen announced retirement plans in February.
