Chamber to host former ‘President’

“It is not what we have that will make us a great nation; it is the way in which we use it.”
These words were stated by the 26th President of the United States whose most enduring domestic legacy is the preservation of the wildlife and natural resources of the nation. Do you know who it is?
President Theodore Roosevelt made a significant impact on the conversation of our country, won the Nobel Peace Prize and even scaled the Matterhorn of the famous Swiss Alps.
On Jan. 13, Teddy Roosevelt will visit Collierville and share stories of his remarkable life at the Collierville Chamber of Commerce Membership Luncheon from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ridgeway Country Club.
While the actual President passed almost a century ago, he will be portrayed by Joe Wiegand, who has performed his Presidential act all over the country, even the White House.
A political science graduate of the University of the South in Sewanne, he worked in the political arena for 25 years before taking on his role as the star of “The Teddy Roosevelt Show.”
Sponsored by the Collierville Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Collierville Burch Library, this is a show you certainly do not want to miss.
“The Teddy Roosevelt Show” will not only offer entertainment, but inspiration from a man whose legacy will continue for generations.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Burch Library for this very special event,” said Kanette Keough Rodgers, president and CEO of the Collierville Chamber of Commerce. “I can think of no better way for the leaders of Collierville to start off the New Year than with a little inspiration and advice from Teddy Roosevelt.”
