Board will appoint new town finance director

The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen will vote on Monday to appoint Mark Krock as the town’s new finance director.

Krock, who was hired in April as the assistant finance director, will be replacing Jane Bevill, who is retiring.
While this is a new position for Krock, he is not new to the town. Almost 20 years ago, he worked in Collierville’s Finance Department as a purchasing agent. Krock left Collierville in 1998 to work with a large public accounting firm as a Certified Public Accountant and most recently worked at First Horizon National Corporation as vice president and compliance officer in the Wealth Management Division.

“Mark brings great value to Collierville both in his experience and his reputation. We are very pleased to have him join our staff,” Bevill said upon Krock’s hiring this spring.
Krock has a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Memphis, and is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor.
A native of West Tennessee, he and his family have spent the past 20 years living in Collierville.
He and his wife, Rita, will be married for 35 years this May.
Rita, teaches Advanced Programming for Exceptional Students for grade schools in Bartlett.
The town approved a budget amendment in January to create the position of assistant finance director in order to train someone for the eventual opening at the position of finance director.
“Since Mark was hired in April,” wrote James Lewellen, town administrator, “he has worked in all areas under the supervision of [Bevill]. He has approached each area with the skepticism of an internal auditor; asking questions, performing reconciliations, reviewing documents, reviewing procedures and policies; and drilling down to the basic information.”
