Collierville Capt. Albonetti awarded 30-year service pin

Collierville Police Department Capt. Mike Albonetti was awarded with a 30-year service pin Monday night during the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

Albonetti was hired as a patrolman with the town’s police department in 1985.
He was promoted to sergeant in 1990, lieutenant in 1994 and captain in 2008. He has served the town as a K-9 officer, SWAT team member, division commander and more.

Of the milestone, Albonetti told board members that it did not “seem like it’s been that long.”
“Mayor,” he said, “I don’t have 30 more good years to give you but I do have some. I look forward to spending them here.”
Albonetti thanked his wife, Cindy, for being a perfect example of “what it means to be a police officer’s wife.”
