Collierville home sales up in March


Home sales in Collierville were up nearly 14 percent last month.
According to data released last week by the Memphis Area Association of Realtors, 93 sales were recorded, or 11 more than a year ago and 15 more than any other suburban municipality in Shelby County.
The median sales price was $259,900 last month, the second highest in the county behind Germantown. With 223 sales recorded in 2015, home sales are up nearly 8 percent this year.
New home sales are down 62 percent in Collierville this year.
Germantown sales fell 16 percent last month, the most among Shelby County municipalities.
According to data, 57 Germantown sales were recorded in March, or 11 fewer than a year ago.
With 156 sales recorded through three months, sales remain up 9 percent for the year.
Germantown’s median sales price was the highest in the county last month at $276,800 and is $287,500 on the year.
New home sales are down 43 percent this year, with four recorded through March.
Sales in Germantown were up in January and February.
Memphis-area home sales for March increased 5.1 percent from a year ago, with 1,270 total sales recorded.
Bartlett experienced a 15-percent jump. However, Arlington had the most growth, with a 138-percent spike in sales compared to last March. Sales are up 121 percent on the year in Arlington.
Shelby County sales were up 6 percent last month but remain down on the year.
“The market’s starting to move again,” said MAAR President Thomas Murphree. “There was a huge increase in sales from February and we’re ahead on YTD sales volume.”
