Dragons fall to Devils in first round of tournament

The Collierville Dragons’ season came to an end Thursday night in the first round of the District 15-AAA tournament. After falling behind 20-12 in the first quarter against rival Germantown, Collierville was able to cut the lead to one point by the half. However, the Red Devils used a 15-9 burst in the third quarter to eventually win the game 64-59. Senior leader Brett Warner, who will suite up for the Delta State University Statesmen this fall, paced the Dragons with 27 points. Drews Andrews, also a senior, added 12 points. After starting the season 12-3, the Dragons lost eight of their last 15 contests to finish the season 16-11. ABOVE: Warner powers his way to the basket through Germantown defenders.
