More than 40 employees from the Carrier Corporation helped students, parents and faculty Saturday morning create several vegetable gardens at Collierville Elementary School. The volunteers spent all morning sprucing up the school grounds and creating the gardens, which will eventually be used to grow fall vegetables that will be harvested by students and prepared in the school’s cafeteria. Ann Chester, community affairs director for Carrier Corp., organized the event and MorGreen owner Mike Omar donated equipment and plants. The event, part of Carrier’s Green Apple Day of Service, will be held annually at area schools. work2
