Houston scorches Bolton

The Mustangs improved to 2-0 on the season last Friday after beating the Wildcats 30-7 on the road.
By gaining nearly 400 yards of total offense in the game, Houston was able to put away a persistent Bolton team that lead until the third quarter.
Houston scored twice in the first half on field goals by CJ Stafford, but failed to score a touchdown until the third quarter.
Bolton scored their only points of the game in the first quarter on a 44-yard run from running back Darian Nave.
The Mustangs opened the second half with a drive that ended with a Malik Elion touchdown. Elion finished the game with 64 yards and seven carries.
The next two touchdowns came from junior quarterback Jared Schmidt completions to Chase Moss-Pioreck.
Houston’s defense allowed only 39 passing yards in the game and held Wildcat quarterback Austin Clark to a 35-percent completion rate. aBIGK4948
