Collierville kids attend baseball camp

The Collierville High School baseball coaches offered the first of three camps last week to a group of very enthusiastic children. The camp lasted from June 3-6. The baseball staff offers instruction in all areas of the game. The week long camp focuses on improving skills through lectures, drills and game situations. After days of instruction and working on fundamentals of the game, all age groups were divided equally and rewarded with many fun scrimmages played simultaneously with coaches becoming umpires and CHS high school players becoming coaches. The young kids had a great experience and had many high school players and coaches to utilize throughout the weeklong process. Not only were campers given quality instruction and camp t-shirts, but they were also personally invited by Coach Hopkins and the entire coaching staff to be their guests at the next Dragon’s home game. The next camps will be held June 10 for 10- to- 14-year-olds and June 17 specializing in pitchers and catchers.
