Germantown man charged with aggravated assault

A Germantown man and an employee at Collierville High School was arrested last Thursday night after local police responded to a domestic violence call on Windy Oaks.

Michael Corey Halliburton, 52, of 2330 Windy Oaks has been charged with aggravated assault.

Germantown police received a call shortly after 8 p.m. on Sept. 6 regarding a possible domestic disturbance.

When they arrived at the residence, Halliburton’s wife was found outside with a neighbor. Police reports indicate that she had sustained “multiple injuries” from a “knife sharpening steel.”

Halliburton stayed inside the house and turned off of the lights.

Negotiators were called to communicate with Halliburton, who was eventually taken into custody without incident.

The female victim was taken to the Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Halliburton was charged with aggravated assault and transported to the Germantown City Jail.

His bond is set for $75,000.
