Home sales up for sixth consecutive month

With a 13 percent bump in July, home sales in Collierville are up for the sixth consecutive month of 2012.

Records from the Memphis Area Association of Realtors indicate that 113 houses were sold in July, 13 more than the same time a year ago.

The median sales price in Collierville is also up 13 percent at $290,000.

With the exception of January, home sales in the town have been up every month this year.

With 1,286 sales in July, numbers were also up 6 percent in Shelby County. The median sales price, currently $96,000, has increased 13 percent from 2011.

Germantown and Bartlett saw 10 and 9 percent July increases, respectively.

To date, sales in Collierville are up 30 percent, with 553 units sold through July.

The year-to-date median sales price is $281,000.

Eleven new homes were sold in Collierville in July, five more than 2011.
